150,000 Fans Attend Porn Show In LA

LOS ANGELES - Several thousand fans converged on the L.A. Convention Center this past weekend for Adultcon 14, the three-day expo that features dozens of porn stars, models and adult entertainment companies.
Even two hours before closing on Sunday, Ron Jeremy was signing autographs and posing for pictures for an enthusiastic group at the Beamonstar.com booth, which was promoting its male enhancement products.
Meanwhile on the far end of the South Hall, fans had several other options including the comic relief of Evan Stone, who was wearing a white cloak and standing behind a podium. He was near the HeatherGates.com booth, where girls were riding a clit massage machine and guys were straddling Gates doggie-style as cameras snapped.
Sin City exclusive Tory Lane was stationed a few feet away, not far from Adam & Eve hottie Kayden Kross who looked fetching in fishnet stockings. Nautica Thorn spent 40 minutes talking to one of her super fans who brought three different cameras with him to capture the day's excitement.
The owner of Nautica Thorn Productions took a break to discuss her participation in the non-profit karmarescue.org, which she said, "helps poochies that are unwanted find homes." She added that fans were buying her movies such as her most recent release, Straight Fucking, and then asking for her previous stuff such as Entering Nautica Thorn.
"The name is getting out there and people like the product," she said, noting that she's booked for an interracial scene on May 26 for Evil Angel.
Thorn was one of a few girls interviewed by KTLA Channel 5 News for an Adultcon segment that ran on Saturday night.
Fans that walked to the back of the hall weren't disappointed when they spotted Alexis Love, Veronique Vega and Tristan Kingsley at the LA Direct booth.
"I like seeing my fans here and I'm starting to see some of the same people at these conventions," Love said.
The starlet was signing copies of the May Penthouse magazine, which features her in a sexy layout as the new Pet of the Month. She said a lot of her fans knew that she was in the new Penthouse and told her "congratulations, you deserve it." Love said she'll fly to New York this week for an appearance on the "Howard Stern Show" with Justine Joli on Tuesday.
Kingsley, who was wearing a pink schoolgirl ensemble, said this weekend marked her second Adultcon show after being in the industry for about a year. The San Jose native was signing copies of her Vouyer Media movie N2Deep and promoting her site.
One of the largest booths at the expo was for Eric John's Erotique Entertainment, where Lux Kassidy and Angie Savage attracted plenty of attention. Across the way, Lexxi Tyler turned heads at the Dolips.com booth, while Sophie Dee, Cherokee, Savannah Stern and Teanna Kai worked their own sets of fans. Performer Brian Pumper held court at his B. Pumper Productions booth with his recent DVDs spread out across the table.
Club Jenna contract girl Roxy Jezel signed all three days at the Stiletto magazine booth and also got some airtime on Channel 5 news Saturday night.
"It's been awesome. I love coming to this convention," she said.
Jezel also mentioned she had recently been cast as a high class escort in Sexploitation: Under the Gun, an independent mainstream movie that is being shot in New York next month.
Adultcon president Renaud West was generally pleased with the event.
"Well, Coachella was this weekend and there's 150,000 people out there, so that hurt our attendance, along with the book exhibition [Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at UCLA]. The recession isn't helping. The price of gas isn't helping. But with all that, our turnout has been better than we expected," West said as he eyed another group riding the escalator up to the hall. "We're very fortunate with the weather being beautiful. Whatever the numbers are they are better than we what we were expecting.
"... The room is still big, but we're filling it a little better."
West even brought in the same tiger that was in the movie Gladiator as an added attraction for this show.
"We got the live tiger for everybody to take pictures with," West said. "This show is a great value to adult talent. They definitely make money and they get to meet their fans."

Ayana Angel Posts On Her Blog
XXX-Recession
Ok, this was supposed to be my big return to XXX. Do you know all my shoots got cancelled! Then I hear its the same for other girls - no work, etc!!!! Alot of the companies are in Brazil shooting (need to see the list of male talent so I can add them to my No-Shooting list) but I mean damn!!!! WTF! So I think from now on until LA recovers................... I think XXX may be feeling the effects of the rise of the Internet, the over-abundance of people claiming to be reputable companies, boot-legging of videos, etc. This is normally the busy time for porn but no one is busy at all!!! I may need to start another mainstream job search!!!
My new quote for XXX was "They got me out here Brett Farve-ing...... trying to see if I still got it...!!!", and then this and now he retired today. Hmm, is that a hint????

Scientology Creates A Brainwashed, Robotic Version Of You - Here's How
Hollywood [Fox News] - Jason Beghe is the bravest actor in Hollywood. He’s come clean about his 14 years in Scientology, the religion that Tom Cruise reveres. He says the purpose of Scientology is to create a "brainwashed, robotic version of you."
He also says that he spent about $1 million to work his way up the Scientology ladder to become what’s known as an "OT5 auditor," or someone who listens to new members and teaches them the ropes.
He was so successful as a celebrity auditor, he says, that David Miscavige, the head of the sect, referred to him as "the poster boy for Scientology."
But now that Beghe and his wife have left the sect, the actor has concerns. They can be, he says, a vicious and vindictive group. When he asked for money back that he had banked for future study — some $60,000 to $70,000 — it was returned and he was banished.
"Once you ask for refund and repayment, that’s what it’s called, you’re not allowed to take another course or speak to another Scientologist ever again," Beghe says.
On Tuesday, I told you that Beghe had posted a three-minute "teaser" video explaining a little about his exit from Scientology. A second, longer video will be going up on YouTube Wednesday or Thursday. It’s not to make money or to get publicity for himself, Beghe says, and I believe him. "If it helps people, that’s what’s important."
And that’s because Beghe says that most Scientologists are completely insulated from the criticism that we all read or publish. All the jokes, the "South Park" stuff, anti-cult stories, real data about people who’ve suffered inside the sect largely go unnoticed by the Scientology community. "They just say, 'You don’t understand.'"
Beghe is just beginning to comprehend what an impact his announcement has made. It should rock the world of celebrity Scientologists, the people Miscavige has counted on to carry the sect’s message to the outside world and make it seem plausible.
But Beghe says not all the celebrity Scientologists are completely "in." Kirstie Alley, he says, is a friend and "could be gotten out." Tom Cruise, he says, was out for several years.
"He was brought back in around the time of his divorce from Nicole Kidman. And then they put him through something called Ethics Cycle after Penelope Cruz left. That’s when you make amends for having not been in it for a while."
Cruise’s Ethics Cycle, Beghe thinks, would account for the campaign Cruise went on while filming "War of the Worlds," through the meeting, courting and recruiting of Katie Holmes, the fight with Matt Lauer on "Today" and telling Diane Sawyer what kind of Scientologist he was on ABC — not to mention the couch-jumping on "Oprah."
Beghe, for one, says he was not a good celebrity Scientologist. "They would ask me to come to parties for Tom or John (Travolta); I would say 'yes' and not go."
Indeed, Beghe says he’s spent the last eight years trying to leave Scientology. "It was good for the first three years or so. But then I got nothing out of it."
"Scientology," Beghe says, "delivers what it promises under the guise of tearing away falsity, neuroses, psychoses. It creates a brainwashed, robotic version of you. It’s a ‘Matrix’ of you, so you’re communicating with people all the time using Scientology. So we’re seeing you ‘via’ Scientology. And it creates an addiction, so you come back for more."
He says that he initially was recruited through acting teacher Milton Katselas’ class. Katselas has been cited in many publications, including The New York Times, for exerting pressure on his students to join the sect.
"He gets kickbacks," Beghe says. Among Katselas’ students have been at least half a dozen celebrity Scientologists, including Giovanni Ribisi (who is thought to have recruited "My Name Is Earl" star Jason Lee and, in turn, Ethan Suplee) and his sister, Marisa, Leah Remini and Anne Archer.
Beghe was brought to the Scientology center in Hollywood by Bodhi Elfman, husband of actress Jenna Elfman, who was in Katselas’ class. His appointment was for 10 a.m. He wound up staying at least 12 hours, as the sect’s auditors embarked on their "brainwashing." It was just before his career was taking off with a role as Demi Moore’s love interest in "G.I. Jane."
"David Miscavige loved me. He took me to Hemet" — the Scientology fortress in the California mountains — "and he came with me to the premiere of 'G.I. Jane.' He let me do voice-overs for Scientology instructional videos, which was unheard of. And it would take a year to do a 15-minute video; he was that meticulous."
But in a short time, Beghe saw that things were not going so well. "I was unhappy and depressed. They would say it was their fault, the way they were handling my ‘case.’ And I’d flip out another $50,000 for another course."
Beghe says the biggest question at Scientology is where all the money has gone. "You never get any answers about it," he says. "And it’s all about money."
It took Beghe and his wife, Angie — whom he’d brought into the sect and who also achieved the high level of OT5 — more than a year to negotiate their way out. (Their first child even endured the Scientology "silent birth" we’ve heard so much about.)
Beghe says during that time his relations with his family and friends — like childhood pal David Duchovny — were strained. "Things are much better now with everyone," Beghe says.
He also says that he spent about $1 million to work his way up the Scientology ladder to become what’s known as an "OT5 auditor," or someone who listens to new members and teaches them the ropes.

I Am Now Officially An Obama Girl
By JOAN LOWY (Associated Press Writer)
From Associated Press
April 16, 2008 2:18 PM EDT
WASHINGTON - Rock star Bruce Springsteen endorsed Democratic Sen. Barack Obama for president Wednesday, saying "he speaks to the America I've envisioned in my music for the past 35 years."
In a letter addressed to friends and fans posted his Web site, Springsteen said he believes Obama is the best candidate to undo "the terrible damage done over the past eight years."
"He has the depth, the reflectiveness, and the resilience to be our next president," the letter said. "He speaks to the America I've envisioned in my music for the past 35 years, a generous nation with a citizenry willing to tackle nuanced and complex problems, a country that's interested in its collective destiny and in the potential of its gathered spirit. A place where '...nobody crowds you, and nobody goes it alone.' "
The bard of New Jersey is known for his lyrics about the struggles of working-class Americans, particularly in the economically ravaged factory towns of the Northeast.
Springsteen and his E Street band were part of the Vote for Change tour, a coalition of musicians opposed to the re-election of President Bush in 2004. He wrote the anti-war ballad "Devils and Dust" about Iraq.
Springsteen did not directly mention Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Obama's rival for the Democratic nomination, in his letter, but appeared to take issue with her recent criticisms of comments made by Obama about working-class voters in small towns in Pennsylvania and controversial statements by his pastor.
"Critics have tried to diminish Senator Obama through the exaggeration of certain of his comments and relationships," Springsteen wrote. "While these matters are worthy of some discussion, they have been ripped out of the context and fabric of the man's life and vision ... often in order to distract us from discussing the real issues: war and peace, the fight for economic and racial justice, reaffirming our Constitution, and the protection and enhancement of our environment."

John Stagliano (Evil Angel) Indicted On 8 Counts
Here's a letter from John's wife -
If you’ve heard about the obscenity case against Evil Angel, you might imagine that I’m a little busy right now.
I’ll be sending out a formal press release by Thursday morning announcing a press conference on April 21 following John’s arraignment in Washington DC.
For now, I would like to reach out to all of you to help get the word out about the informational site for the defense website. It will serve as the press landing spot regarding the case, a place for people to donate to the legal fund (which will stay in place long after our case is done), a place for people to comment, and in the next several days, we will start adding video media regarding First Amendment issues.
The site domain name is http://www.defendourporn.org
Thank you,
Karen Stagliano
Evil Angel Producitons

818-231-3862 cell
In case you have not heard, John Stagliano has been indicted on 8 counts of obscenity.
"In the days following the indictment, Mr. Stagliano received an outpouring of support from adult industry members and fans, asking how and where they could donate money to help fight the legal case," reads a statement on the site.
The site states that "any money which is donated and not used towards the legal defense of the John Stagliano / Evil Angel case will be rolled over in the DefendOurPorn fund and will be earmarked for future First Amendment / Obscenity prosecutions."
According to a news bulletin on the site, Evil Angel will hold a press conference at the District of Columbia courthouse on April 21 following Stagliano's arraignment. Stagliano and his attorney Allan Gelbard will be present to answer questions.
AVN's Mark Kernes notes that "this is the first time that an adult producer has taken the bold step of creating a Website to encourage support of himself and his company in the face of a federal obscenity prosecution ... although admittedly, prior to the four recent producer indictments (Extreme Associates, Max Hardcore, Evil Angel and the now-acquitted JM Productions), the last wave of such indictments took place more than 15 years ago, before the Internet was much more than a hobbyist's toy.
One of the theories circling around Porn Valley is that John Stagliano’s rendition of his Fashionistas show during the AVN Awards mocked the federal government. Not only do federal agents typically attend the AVN Expo and AVN Awards Show, but with the show airing repeatedly on Showtime, it gave Washington ample opportunity to see his possibly-perceived offense. Is this why Evil Angel got singled out?

Here's the story -
Jaab, a vivacious 8 year old male elephant, paints beautiful floral art in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He loves to play with his elephant friends and seems to like everybody. This agreeable nature helped Jaab when he started learning to paint five years ago. Of course, the rewards of corn (his favorite food) also was a great motivator. With his art teacher, Khun Tossapol Petcharattanakool, and caretaker, Mr. Phad Singbut, Jaab is now creating realistic and abstract paintings. His style keeps progressing and he is one of the special elephants who really enjoys expressing himself through art vs. those who choose to eat their wooden paint brushes.
When Thailand cut back on logging, at least 3,000 domesticated elephants were no longer needed for hauling and these wonderful creatures are facing unprecedented survival challenges. Jaab's amazing art is being sold to help save the demising number of Asian elephants remaining on our planet and to protect them from people using them for illegal logging or begging for handouts on city streets. Proceeds are used to keep their native habitats as well as caretaker education, veterinarian care, and food for domesticated elephants.
Positive behavioral training techniques and non-toxic paints are used while Jaab explores his sense of style. One-of-a-kind pieces have an official stamp and comes with Jaab's picture and bio. Thank you for helping and saving these amazing and talented creatures.
The video is from exoticworldgifts.com, everything sold on this site and you'll be giving back to people in need, while giving a rare gift forward. This is called "Compassion Shopping".
